The world is fast pacing everything is moving forward with the speed of light. Trends are changing, than why are we still stuck with the old fashioned methods of teaching?
In following paragraphs we will tell you why it is becoming important to take help of technology for educating our children. Here, we will discuss about the role which technology can play in the field of teaching and how it will change the whole outlook of an ordinary classroom.
In my country, Pakistan the trend of using technology is not yet elaborately set. But we can sense that changes are coming. Various expensive institutions encourage their teachers to use educational videos and give multimedia presentations to enhance and further elaborate the topic to their students. In some institutions it is mandatory for a teacher to give multimedia presentation to explain the lesson. The drift of teaching methodology is gradually changing which is a constructive step towards imparting quality education. By international standards we are still in the wake of it. The teachers can use computer technology to completely transform the classroom environment. This methodology is newly presented here in our country, but it has very positive effects on the studies.
Students can easily get bored by an hour long session on one lesson. Their attention span decreases with passing time and till the last period they get so bored and tired that whatever teacher is explaining to them goes futile. To have student's undivided attention and to keep things light and interesting in class, the teacher can come up with interactive activities for the children, by using technology, to take part in. by doing so students can maintain their level of interest and these activities can also help them to remember their lesson. Most of the old fashioned teachers are not in favor of using technology in class room. They support the idea of old classrooms with blackboard hung on the wall with chalk. We really need to change this mindset against using technology or else our students will remain behind in this competitive world. The use of technology presents a problem for the teachers who do not use these gadgets. They are unaware of their usage and so they find it difficult to use technology in their classroom. The task presents a great challenge for them as well as the task also become tiresome for them.
